His research project regards the analysis of management plans for forest areas in Minas Gerais (a case study). For the forest inventory, DBH (diameter-breast height), total height and commercial height of 7,600 (seven thousand six hundred) trees were measured in 80 (eighty) shares of 500 (five hundred) m2.
Data analysis was carried out using Mata Nativa to obtain information on species and DBH class of horizontal, vertical and internal structure of the areas studied. Mata Nativa software was an extremely important tool to use, especially because it generates reliable results in a short period of time.
"The program is outstanding in the market, especially for the many analyses it allows. The technology used by Mata Nativa significantly outperforms existing systems. The interface with other software and ease of being in the Windows environment enabled the processing of the necessary calculations. The automation of tasks has greatly made my work easier, "said Danilo.
UFRPE - Federal Rural University of Pernambuco
Professor Isabelle Maria Jacqueline Meunier
:: In addition to supporting several types of work, the Mata Nativa system has been an important tool for teaching, research and extension programs. It has significantly assisted many professionals to better understand the characteristics of natural forest vegetation.
Professor of Forestry Experimentation and Forest Inventory at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), Isabelle Maria Jacqueline Meunier, has used Mata Nativa both for didactic activities and for analysis of inventories, mainly of savanna plots. According to her, the system is an excellent inventory program that foresees large applications, especially within the Forest Management Network of Caatinga.
"Mata Nativa's strengths are interactivity (possibility to technically intervene in formulas, equations, limits of classes, categories, etc.) and online assistance. Mata Nativa speaks to us in the language of forest engineering," says Mrs. Meunier.
USP - University of São Paulo
Master student Valéria Maria Melleiro Gimenez
:: Master student Valéria Maria Melleiro Gimenez from the laboratory of forestry systematic at the University of São Paulo - USP, uses the Mata Nativa software in her research work. She is in the field of botanical studies and uses the system to perform statistical analysis in phytosociological and floristic work on restoration of natural areas.
"I use the program for the entire phytosociological work I need and I find it all very simple. I have noticed the software is relevant because it allows the use of aggregation index and vertical structure. One of its strengths is surely the ease to import data from Excel", she says.
UFCG - Federal University of Campina Grande
Professor Josuel Arcanjo da Silva
:: Forest engineer Josuel Arcanjo da Silva, a doctoral student in Forest Science at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and professor at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) in Paraíba, has used the Mata Nativa software for his doctoral research. His research project consists of a phytosociological survey and study of allometric relationships in the savanna of the states of Paraiba and Rio Grande do Norte. For the forest inventory, CGL (circumference at ground level), total height of trees in portions of 1000 (one thousand) m² on two levels of inclusion, and subplots of 500 (five hundred) m². Data analysis was carried out using Mata Nativa to gather information on the floristic composition, and on the horizontal, vertical, and internal structures of the areas studied.
According to Josuel Silva, "the Mata Nativa software is undoubtedly a unique tool for ease of interface with other applications, especially in what regards its input and output data, and of course the tasks it performs, with the details and flexibility that Forestry, Biology , Ecology specialists, among others, need."
G & G Engenheiros Florestais Ltda
Forest Engineers Núcia Meirellis Guimarães da Gama and Aldemir Teixeira da Gama
:: G & G Forest Engineers Ltd.(G & G Engenheiros Florestais Ltda), located in the city of Barreiras - Bahia, provides consulting and environmental assistance, works with deforestation projects, forest management, reforestation, environmental licensing, and uses the Mata Nativa software. Firm partner, forest engineer Núcia Meirelles Guimarães da Gama says they have used the system for data processing and floristic surveys pertaining to forest management, and it has contributed to reducing data processing time, primarily from forest inventories, streamlining delivery of forest management projects.
The other partner, also a forest engineer, Aldemir Teixeira da Gama, says that "the strengths of the system regard the feasibility to register formulas for volume, species, designers, performers and others, the speed of data processing and ease of data entry in the program."

:: CCA - Environmental Consulting Ltd.(Consultoria Ambiental Ltda), located in the city of Guarapari - Espirito Santo, provides consultancy on environment and environmental impact assessment and they use the Mata Nativa software.
The system has been widely used for the work of analyzing Mata Nativas and
when assessing human impacts on nature over time.
According to the consultant of the company, forest engineer José Manoel Lúcio Gomes, "results organized in tables, plotting, and calculation of the ideal number of samples based on statistics for basal area and density, are the strengths of Mata Nativa."
MG Consultoria Ambiental
Forest Engineer Lidiane G. Franco
:: MG Environmental Consulting (MG Consultoria Ambiental), which consults in the area of environment and natural resources has used the Mata Nativa software in one of its works conducted for SAMARCO S / A, in Unidade de Germano (unit) in the city of Mariana, Minas Gerais. They developed Technical Projects of Flora Reconstitution (PTRF), in order to get an Authorization to Remove Vegetation (APEF). Thus, a forest inventory was made necessary in six separate areas, totaling approximately 900 ha, within a maximum period of two months.
According to forest engineer Lidiane G. Franco, who worked on the MG Consulting Environmental team, they started the work using the Excel software, and it required much time to create the appropriate tables and analysis of results, which were not simple. "The registering of formulas and indices were complex, with many spreadsheets and subject to a major disruption," she says.
Given the complexity of the work and the need for fast delivery, the team decided to purchase the Mata Nativa software, since in such conditions, the company would have had to hire more people, and that would have significantly increased costs and decentralized the work.
The Mata Nativa software was used to perform the calculations of inventory, speeding and making the work easier. They were able to include all registered data in Excel due to the import and export capabilities of the Mata Nativa system.
Lidiane Franco reports that "without the use of Mata Nativa software, delivery of work on time would have been impossible. We would not be able to finish it on time. The work parameters were too complicated to calculate manually. The amplitude of the system surprised me because I realized that it can be used in several areas. No doubt, we gained time and convenience for our work. "
